彩虹的约定

                                      

昨天下午，和一个朋友一起步行回家。

途中，飞沙满天，大雨倏降，夕阳却灿烂。

雨后，东方惊现一道彩虹，绚丽无比。

朋友开始给我讲彩虹的来历：

耶和华见人在地上罪恶很大，终日所思想的尽都是恶。
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

耶和华就后悔造人在地上，心中忧伤。 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 耶和华说，我要将所造的人和走兽，并昆虫，以及空中的飞鸟，都从地上除灭，因为我造他们后悔了。 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 惟有挪亚在耶和华眼前蒙恩。 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 然后，耶和华让洪水在地上泛滥... 凡在地上有血肉的动物，就是飞鸟，牲畜，走兽，和爬在地上的昆虫，以及所有的人都死了。 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: 除了方舟里的挪亚，以及他们带上的洁净的畜类和不洁净的畜类，飞鸟并地上一切的昆虫，各为一对。

一年多以后，水势渐消，耶和华对诺亚说：

我与你们立约，凡有血肉的，不再被洪水灭绝，也不再有洪水毁坏地了。 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

神说，我与你们并你们这里的各样活物所立的永约，是有记号的。 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

我把虹放在云彩中，这就可作我与地立约的记号了。 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

我使云彩盖地的时候，必有虹现在云彩中， And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

我便记念我与你们和各样有血肉的活物所立的约，水就再不泛滥，毁坏一切有血肉的物了。 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

虹必现在云彩中，我看见，就要记念我与地上各样有血肉的活物所立的永约。 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
